WC Powder

wc powder (chemical formula: tungsten carbide) is a dark gray powder that can be pressed and made into shapes through sintering. It is used in industrial machinery, cutting tools, abrasives, armor-piercing rounds, and jewelry.

wc powder is manufactured by using a reduction process to produce tungsten trioxide WO3 and carbon black, which are combined in an equimolar ratio and then press-formed under a high pressure. The pressurized material block is then heated in a graphite resistance furnace or an induction furnace to 14001700 degC. The heat is maintained until the reaction is complete.

Macrocrystalline wc powders are the most thermodynamically stable tungsten carbide powders on the market and are widely used in hard metal-cutting tools, saw blades, wear parts, thermal spray powder(s), and graded powder feedstock. They are classified by mesh size and carburized in special ways to ensure consistent, high-quality results.

Tungsten carbide is a super-hard, high-performance material with a density of two times that of steel. It is very resistant to corrosion and has excellent strength at high temperatures. It is used to make jet engine parts, cermet materials, resistance heating elements, and melting crucibles for copper, cobalt, and bismuth.

The main uses of wc powder are: aerospace, machine tool, aviation, chemical processing, electronics, aeronautics, metallurgy, chemistry, and environment. It can also be used for making hard facing (weld) rods, infiltrated diamond tools, and drill bits and tooling.
